We were enjoying ourselves thoroughly at our BLOCK PARTY tonight. :) Neighbors are cool. Plus, we are thoroughly convinced that we live on one of the coolest streets of neighbors in Chicago. They've been doing this block party thing for 20 years! There was live music and great food...it was much fun.
So, with little time before I head downstairs to rummage, I checked out our "stats" on the site, which I do occasionally. It's fun to see which countries access the site and so forth.
I'm always intrigued by what people are LOOKING FOR when they stumble across our site via an Internet search engine, like Google or Yahoo or MSN.
The fact that they are looking for THESE things doesn't really surprise me (in order of popularity):
silent paint remover
i cannot place this
installing coaxial cable

houseinprogress
subway tile
bungalow tile
palmetto bug photo
home improvement bungalow
just sashes
americanbungalow.com
fishing wire through walls
i have a small bathroom new bathtub
bungalow restoration
conduits old house
how to clean stucco
Of course, we do get searches on items from the "What On Earth?" section. That's to be expected.
THESE things seem a little bit more, um, UNUSUAL :) And I don't think we talk about some of them on our site (like, um, opium plants for instance. I know THOSE aren't on there.)

Good afternoon-I,too, purchased a bungalow occupied by several generations of hoarders(and a large mouse population). Fortunately my interior was left largely intact- too lazy to clean, so too lazy to do the frequently seen bad remodeling.
I am most curious about the things you find- what you choose to discard; what you decide to keep; what you choose to sell. I am finding the original parts to my home on every floor and in any niche.
I suspect I will encounter many of your situations as I procede. Look forward to frequent updates on your web site, which I found by visiting the Chicago bungalow site.
Regards-

If you just listed all of those searches without the context, you'd have a really fine set of candidate new band names...
"sultan pepper nebraska music" might already be taken though.

I know some of those weird search results are coming from comments all us visitors have left in your blog. I know someone mentioned the "stay-puft marshmallow man," since he's in your What On Earth section. I may be quilty of throwing out the term "googie" myself. Opium anyone?

Hmmm. So by saying opium here in the comment section a few times (opium, opium, etc.), I can guide more unsuspecting opium seekers to your lovely website that has absolutely nothing to do with opium. Isn't this fun.
Rice krispies treats, rice krispies treats, rice krispies treats. Sorry. I'm done.

Oh now I am COMPLETELY looking for Rice Krispies Treats in our search results. May take a couple of weeks depending on how many people search for that. :) I'll let you know.

I actually put in "Bungalow bathroom accessories" and your site came up on MSN.
