Going with the flow?

Category: House History

I often get an email or two asking me about the floorplan of our unusual Craftsman/Mission, um, Prairie-influenced bungalow.

I'll try to post the old plans here so you can see the current layout. My dad (the draftsman par excellence that he is) drew up these plans quickly on a short visit. The numbers may need to be retotaled and new measuements taken, but it gives you the general idea. (Click on the image and wait...it's kinda large. Sorry.)

Here is the second floor . (Also large...take your time when you click it. Go out for a cup of coffee or do some laundry or needlepoint a piano, 'kay?)

Now that the alarm system is wired up and working, I feel much better about putting this "out there". Though if you are in so much need that you would LIKE to break in and take the coffee maker, gosh! Just ask. I'll give you free coffee instead. (Anything vaguely interesting is buried in storage offsite. We grab it out piece by piece.)

We love the plan overall. The flow is easy and appealing. The size and shape of modern appliances in this little kitchen have me tearing out my hair a *wee* bit. The unfinished basement is a full one and has a nice ceiling height (7 or 8 feet, I think?), but the back room of the house-the room that was added on- has GOT to GO! Before it falls off. A few key doors are gone. And walls. And storm windows. You get the picture.

Ah, all things in good time.
