Yes, it's time to reach into the pile of mail we get every week and pick out a note or two.

In regards to this past picture:

I don't know if you're still curious, but I asked a friend of mine from Japan about the writing on this page.
Here's what she had to say:
You want to know the meaning of those words in the drawing at the bottom, right? You know, I'm not sure either. Oh-ohh. But I can guess that it reads something like this: Hihoterino mataharutsuboya shimonoasa.
It seems like a poem about baking a ceramic on a cold morning. But you need someone who is expert in Ancient Japanese to decipher it into modern Japanese. Hope it helps you a little bit.
I love your webpage. My parents started renovating our house when I was a kid, and they're still working on it. (I'm 25.)

Hoo-boy Rachel! That is so cool that you were able to help us with our deciphering dilemma!!! The Japanese and Chinese characters have been especially difficult.
And bless bless bless your parents for hanging in there. I have this weird and sinking feeling that we will be working on THIS house when our kids are 25. Just don't tell Aaron. We don't have kids yet.
Sigh.
Take good care...
