We awoke this morning to the beauty of Chicago's first snow fall...
We have a lot to be thankful for (sometimes, it's good to remind yourself of that in the middle of a house renovation.) Like...
-At least one working bathroom!
-Heat
-The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
-Menard's
-The Breaktime Forum at Fine Homebuilding
-A fully functioning Sawzall
-Antidepressants
-Friends who make us laugh
-Family who will drive a turkey & homemade gravy THIRTEEN HOURS to feed you
-The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
-Prybars
-A working washer, dryer and microwave. Also, the grill.
-The entire old house renovation community worldwide
-Love, love, love (hum it like a Beatles tune)
Lots more to give thanks for. But I'll let you add your own things to the list. :)

What a great list.. I know you have nO idea who I am but I was replying to your post on the old hosue web and saw your blog link. Two thumbs up to he Mr. Clean Sponges.. and heck the rst of your list too! Hope it was a great T-day... and BTW... the secret ingredent in the gravey is either cinnamon if it's a savory gravy, or some type of jelly ( like current) if it's one that moves to the slightly sweet side :)

Gratitude is highly under-valued these days, and people seem to feel entitled rather than thankful most of the time...but as someone who's been generously and undeservedly blessed by life, I'd like to add to the list.
I'm thankful for:
A dear, thoughtful husband who does quadruple duty as best buddy, skilled handyman, talented decorator, and great cook.
Three healthy, smart, imaginative kids who are far from perfect, but always original.
A job I enjoy, that pays the bills.
NPR.
Zippy the Wonder Saturn.
i-Tunes.
Big dogs.
Good coffee.
One full year of being a non-smoker.
Flannel sheets.
Old houses.
Oh, this could go on for a while...but I'll take it offline and give someone else a chance...

So many things to be thankful for:
*Going to fetch the mail at night and giggling with glee when you turn back around and see the lighted front porch of the house that is really and truly yours
*Cats napping under the Christmas tree instead of trying to knock the ornaments off
*A working dishwasher (thanks, hubby!)
*Maple trees with pretty orange leaves
*Aleve Cold and Sinus
