WHOO HOOO!
This bathtub...(secondhand purchase, the real vintage deal)...
...actually fit up....
THIS STAIRCASE!!!
We are HERE IN PERSON and we don't quite believe it either.
Especially that tight corner at the bottom of the stairs.
I don't even want to think about the Aaron-sized (that would be King-sized) bed that will need to get up here later on.
We've never tried it, but the Forearm Forklift sounds like it would be a really good idea. Of course, I found this after the guys moved the bathtub.
It was like fitting a greased pig through a keyhole* but, with help from four strong guys, it made it up the stairs.
*By the way, fitting a greased pig through a keyhole is one of those things I never want to do in the house. Just write that out of all plans. 'Cause I'm not on board with that.

Wow! You guys are tough. We just had to move our clawfoot from the garage to our master bathroom, which on the same level and not that far away, and that took 4 guys. I can't even begin to imagine how you got around a corner and up those stairs. The hardest part for us was getting the tub around corners and into place in the teeny 6' x 8' bathroom.
Oh but I love that bathtub. It looks fantastic (we had the inside restored and did the outside work and painting ourselves), and it is easily the best bathtub I've ever had the privilege of taking a bath in.
Good for you. You'll love your tub!

I cannot wait to see the bathroom you are putting this in!
My brother wants to put a clawfoot tub in one of the baths upstairs here. After our plumbing fiasco last summer [ that ended up costing lots of $$$ to get fixed by a real plumber] I'm scared to touch anything else in my house! :(

See, just knowing someone else is doing silly things like shoving an oversized bathtub into an undersized hallway makes me feel much, MUCH better.

This gives me hope that we won't have too much trouble moving in our tub ... it'll be on the ground floor, so surely we can make it if you can squeeze yours up that staircase. Thanks for the tip on the Forearm Forklift, too.
