...you feel guilt for any seven-day period when you don't work on your house...even if you've been working on the house non-stop for months.
Just as a tip...if this makes you feel guilty then definitely DON'T start a blog where you write daily about your progress. Then you feel REALLY guilty when you don't work on the house.
Sigh.

Boy, I can relate to this especially lately. I'm tired of the process and want the room I've been plugging away at since Thanksgiving to be DONE! I haven't worked on it in a week. Now that I've put it in writing and acknowledged my laziness I'll get back to the woodwork today.

Don't feel guilty. After a year of tearing up carpet, removing tiny floor staples, sanding, and polyeurathaning, I finished the floors in three bedrooms and a hallway. Just when I get to the home stretch, the stairs, I totally lose steam. We went through heck trying to get black adhesive off each stair (from God knows what), and pulling up the tiniest staples I've ever seen in my life (my hardware store had never seen anything that small) that were put randomly all over the stairs.
Last weekend, feeling completely overwhelmed, I hired someone to finish the work. It was like a huge boulder had been lifted off my shoulders.

Yep, know the feeling. We lost momentum with the holidays, and it's just now picking up again. And then something's always happening on the weekend ... that's what we get for living in the same area as both sets of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
I am trying to let myself relax about the house and not feel guilty every time I spend an evening not working on it. I want it to be enjoyable, so I guess I'm going to have to get over the get-it-done-get-it-done mentality.
