Custom Built Double-Hung Windows

We knew when we bought the house that the prairie-style windows of our bungalow were part of its charm. We also knew they needed lots of work. Luckily we found someone in Chicago who does great custom work:

We first met John at the Chicago Bungalow Expo right after we bought our house. That summer we had him come and repair all our double-hungs.

• The first day on the job the took out all the windows (some were nailed shut!), put in new chains, and then re-hung them.
• The second day they replaced some of the rotted windows with custom-built replicas made of cypress.
• Later we had them come back to build and install a bathroom window to replace a window of cracked glass block.
