...you feel bad on a Sunday that you didn't accomplish enough during the weekend, even though you put in over eight hours on projects.
Overly ambitious expectations are a dangerous thing.

Don't I know it!

OMG, I could have written this. I'm feeling down this morning because I didn't get much done yesterday (Sunday), even though I spent all day Saturday working on house-related projects.
Your website was my first stop because I figured you could emphasize with me if anyone could.
The sad part is, I've already set more overly ambitious goals for today. Evidently, I'm not one to learn from my mistakes. :P

Very similar to the comment I made to my husband last night. I get frustrated with how s-l-o-w-l-y my projects get completed, even when I devote hours each day. Labor takes time!

But when you do finish- isn't it just like heaven? It is to me anyway. It affirms all that in between angst I think. But this is the me that just finished our countertop this weekend. Took Steve a full day at the wood shop, plus he and I both working like 10 plus hours Sat & Sun. I am probably too tired to make sense now anyway!

We've (I've) been working on my DR for a couple of months now, and it looks like it will NEVER be FINISHED! The stripped woodwork does look beautiful - but the walls need more stripping and washing, then patching, sanding, priming, painting and the ceiling is only 1/3 scraped and it needs all that too, and the window isn't stripped yet, and all wood needs to be stained etc. We live in Chicago area too, and it was the most beautiful weekend to spend inside working on the house.
