OK, so we're out of the house tonight and staying at my parents house tonight because OUR HOUSE TOTALLY STINKS! The fumes from the stain are too strong!
I didn't even get to see the stain myself, because it was still drying when I got home.
Jeanne was there during the day, though, and says it looks really good.
We'll see if we can get a few quick pics tomorrow so we can share how it's shaping up...

What are you guys finishing the floor with? We had our done with "Swedish Finish" which is acid-cured urethane, and we could smell it three houses away. Pewheee!

yeah. i totally wish we'd refinished our floors in the 2 weeks we had the house before we moved in...if we ever decide to do it i know avoiding those fumes is going to be an issue

About 5 years ago I put a pine floor in the dining room of my first house. I put on a stain and then a poly finish. I did not wear a respirator. Afterwards I went to a Mexican restaurant to eat and I was so high off the stuff it was hard to read the menu. I learned my lesson.
