OK, Thanksgiving has officially come and gone--the holiday onslaught begins. And in our household, that means another thing...the baby is coming! Only two months to go, in fact. Hard to believe. Equally hard to believe that we're ready for all this.
Especially when you notice that the nursery just off of our master bedroom still looks like this...

If you don't want to read anything about baby rooms, baby toys, baby cribs or babies in general you'll want to skip this post and probably scale back your reading of this blog in general over the next month or so. We've got lots of work to do...
What's in all of the plastic bags in that photo, you ask? Lots of great infant hand-me-downs and gifts from family and friends.
All that stuff that babies want and need...like a blue animal thing-y with a plastic arch thing over its head and lots of things that slide around.

And next to that? Why a Dewalt orbital sander, of course.

Uh yeah, that's gonna have to change.

Are you kidding me? I can't wait until my daughter is old enough for me to buy her the Stanley kid's tool bench with real working tools (http://tinyurl.com/dh3oc)! Just make sure the orbital sander isn't turned in and it can't hurt the little tyke. ;)

So, is the nursery connected to your master bedroom? We have a little bedroom/nursery connected to ours...which is currently my "office". I almost bought an old house once, that had a good sized closet off the master bedroom, with tons of windows in it. I always thought it was weird to have windows in a closet...but then I realized it was probably just the right size at one time for a crib. People were smart back then...putting the nursery close to their room...don't have to run so far in the middle of the night when you hear them waking up and wanting to be fed/held. :)

Our future nursery is just off the master bedroom, too. People keep trying to talk us into moving it to a different bedroom (why they're doing that when we don't even HAVE a baby yet I'm not sure), but I think it's perfect where it is.
And I'm looking forward to lots of baby-related posts! :)

don't rush getting the room done before the baby comes... you'll ware yourself out and more likely than not, the wee babe will be sharing your bed(room) for the first 2-3 months. trust me, it's way easier for those 2am feedings... and the 330am... and 545am...

If you don't have the time to finish the nursery, you can probably utilize one of the fine products from http://babycage.net/
ha ha!
