Summer: the slamming of the wooden screen door as laughing kids run outside to play.
We have a green wooden screen door on our vintage farmhouse. I refuse to install a door-closer which would also eliminate door-slamming. It just wouldn't be summer for me without that sound . . .

we were JUST talking about this sound as the sound of summer. We had ours on and it plus the background hum of other neighbors mowing and the smell of cut grass made for a happy, happy evening
