It's time to stop working when...

...the ladder gives out before you do.

It was really old and rickety.  No, really.

p.s.  It came with the house.

That's hilarious! You guys really are hard core. ;) (Hope no one was on it when it failed!)

Never trust anything a PO leaves behind. I got some old stuff from the PO too that is useless (like a ladder missing some rungs).

Hopefully no one was hurt when the ladder gave out.

By the way, there is a four-foot rolling steel scaffold that the evil empire sells for $100.

I bought it someplace else, but it's way easier to work with than a ladder (and if folds up) and it costs about what you would pay for a decent ladder.

We have a ladder like that- wobbly with a capital W. It's funny how one just keeps using it knowing it's dangerous- we do use ours with caution though and ours is a smaller stepladder but still would provide a bad fall and then if one was holding a hammer or God forbid power tool. Hmmm...maybe we should toss it...
