(You can read Part 1 here.)

So, I really think that mid-century modern houses are going to finally get some loving in Chicago soon.  And there were plenty to love up in Budlong Woods.

AND THEN!  For anyone who thinks that muddling only happens to the bungalows in our neighborhood, here is a lovely little modern home...

And here is a similar little modern home right next to it...

...which is rudely assaulted by this large mobile home.  Hey!  Mobile home!  Get off of that little house!!  Leave it alone!

These trailer homes are quite aggressive.

That poor little house is going to have back trouble.

Oh, that poor little Mid-Century Mod home... Ow!!

I love Mid-Century homes and it's nice to see some from other parts of the country. I live in Phoenix and these homes are enjoying quite a resurgence in popularity here as well. If you're interested, you can find out more at www.modernphoenix.net.

Love your blog.

anyone else feeling an updated version of the brady bunch song comin' on?

here's the story . . . of the '60s bung'lows . . .
that had groovy cut-out rectangles and squares . . .
no one home was quite the same . . . as its neighbor . . .
each had distinctive flair!

That first pic has me drooling like a Chow mix in the Texas summer heat! YUMMMMMMMMY!

I love the masonry of these houses, something we rarely see in our neighborhood.

oh how i love the mid-cen...our next house may very well be something from that beloved era

Oh DEAR! how horrible! Aren't people funny! And I bet it wasn't cheap either...so an expensive mobile home added to the back! EEEK!
