We had a similar problem recently, and I set out two of those newfangleds and four traditional snap traps. The mouse proved that there's no school like the old school. I think she could have dragged the plastic sucker across the floor, anyway. (We had a larger native deer mouse, not a house mouse, in our kitchen.)
