The Kitchen is Done!!!

Category: Baby

Grace's kitchen, that is.   For her second birthday, we gave our future indentured servant a kitchen of her own so that she could start her training pronto.  What will she get next year? A miniature woodshop and oil change garage.  After that, she begins to be responsible for the real thing.

Aaron in his role of "Greatest Dad Ever" spent a few hours assembling the kitchen the night before.

I know, I know.  I haven't mastered the white balance on the new camera yet.  Still.  Almost two years later.  I'm working on it.

Grace's kitchen shares only one thing in common with my real kitchen...the oven doesn't work.  But in every other sense, her kitchen puts my kitchen to shame.  It's humbling.

Red knobs!  And you know what that means?   Yeah, my kid is a stove snob.  Take THAT, Easy Bake Oven.  However, it is more likely that the (eventually) real kitchen stove will be more Easy Bake Oven than Wolf, so this is as close as we're ever going to get.

So a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the special delivery who has slowed down our renovation process.  Eh, it's all worth it.  She'll have to start pulling her own weight next year.

Trissa and Nick are already training Atticus, so we have a lot of catching up to do.

(Also, BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES to our pal, Lisa, who shares a birthday with Miss Grace!  I totally owe you a beer, Lisa!)

Happy Birthday Grace! I loved your cute dress you wore today, what a little lady you are! Have fun in your awesome kitchen. Can I have some cookies?

Happy Birthday Grace! We'll have a little party tomorrow.

What a great birthday present! I wanted one so bad when I was young. Looks fun to put together, too!

Happy Birthday, Grace! We wish we could be there to celebrate. Atticus says we should have cupcakes and ice cream for your birthday here. Your kitchen rocks!

Happy Happy Birthday, Grace! 2 is such a great age! So much better than 1, when you're just little, right? (ONE was so last year!)

Happy Birthday, Grace. I am suffering from kitchen envy here too ;-)

Happ Birthday, Grace!

May you enjoy your stove far more than I enjoy mine.

Which shouldn't be difficult.

Happy Belated Birthday to Grace! That stove is absolutely wonderful, and despite Dad's amazing efforts, it looks a whole lot easier to install than most.

Happy belated birthday! I bet she was so excited to see it completed. I would love to do this for my daughter, but I am not that crafty, and goodness only knows my husband would never finish it, lol. It looks so cute though!

That looks nice. Good Work
