A friend from another city IM'Med** me yesterday about the pink drawers full of treasure that I referred to in my last blog post.
**Instant messaged
"You don't really have stuff left over from when you moved in, do you?"
Oh. Don't we? Yes, we do. To Aaron's dismay. We've managed to unload quite a bit of it, but you don't get rid of 70+ years of debris overnight. Not when you are married to a research wonk.
Behold, the wall of pink drawers.
That shade of pink is horrible (and was all over the house...bathrooms, sunroom) but those brush steel 1940's mod drawer pulls? DIVINE!

Gawker's paradise. That's what we call it.

We live in an 1893 victorian, but the inside of every kitchen cupboard was painted that "Pepto Bismal" Pink. It was our first project! (And this coming from a woman who in a former life collected pink depression glass.) Come to think of it, our previous house was a 1919"craftsman" (using the term loosely) that PO had painted or wallpapered almost every room some form of pink. So glad you are back! I check in almost daily!

Every room in my new 100+ yr. old house is painted some shade of yellow ... hallways, bedrooms, the kitchen ... all of it. I am so glad it's not Pepto Pink or that green from the 50s that even 3 layers of Killz primer couldn't cover.
Those handles are just fantastic, though.
